WHAT ARE WE?
The Outdoor Kids Sun Safety Code is a unique sun protection scheme created by the Myfanwy Townsend Melanoma Research Fund designed to help develop and support sun protection practices for all those who work outdoors with children.
To tackle melanoma (one of the UK's most common cancers in young people) advising on how to sun protect children effectively and ensure healthy habits are developed.
HOW WE CAN HELP
We will provide you with all the information you need to overcome the problems associated with developing, and more specifically implementing, an effective sun protection policy.
Our guidelines were created with the help of leading skin cancer specialist Mr Paul Banwell (FRCS), and experts in physical education, coaching, outdoor activities and welfare so that they are relevant and up to date.
Once you have a working policy in place, you can display your OK accreditation logo, showing that you are doing your best to ensure ‘all children in your care will be actively sun protected’.
To continue to work closely with our supporters and partners, promote the importance of positive action and constantly improve standards of sun protection.
